Enclosure complex - NT 8118 1268
A set of a dozen or so enclosures of varying shapes, sizes and regularities covering about four acres. Some overlap with others, suggesting different phases of use. There are also a few possibly defensive banks and the remains of at least one turf-built shieling. The age is unknown. The site might be early 17th century shieling grounds, but there were earlier reports of Scots grazing stock south of the border.
