Woden Law camp and dykes - NT 7678 1254
An Iron Age camp at the north end of the summit plateau at a height of 1400 feet. There are steep drops on most sides, especially to the west. The camp is oval, with up to four sets of ramparts seemingly built in several phases. There is limited evidence of internal housing. To the east and south there are sets of external dykes, most of which are at some distance. An excavation in the 1950s suggested that these were the remains of Roman siege works, but this theory is no longer widely accepted and it is likely that the dykes are Iron Age as well.
